Sherri Pittman is a strategic advisor, executive coach, and facilitator who works with senior leaders and leadership teams navigating complexity, change, and key moments of transition. Through her advisory practice, Being Human, she supports leaders across the Fortune 500, high-growth startups, government agencies, and social impact organizations.
Sherri brings more than three decades of experience in strategy, marketing, and leadership development to her work. Known for her ability to connect strategy with the human dynamics inside organizations, she helps leaders see clearly, align teams, and make more grounded decisions about what comes next.
Prior to founding Being Human, Sherri held senior leadership roles across a range of organizations and industries. She served as Managing Director and Co-Lead at New Energy Nexus, formerly the California Clean Energy Fund, where she helped reset the organization’s strategic direction, guided operations, and oversaw the CalSEED seed investment portfolio.
Earlier in her career, she was Executive Vice President and San Francisco Office Lead at Metropolitan Group, where she provided strategy and organizational development consultation to environmental and social justice clients, including Sierra Club, Plan International USA, and the U.S. Forest Service. She also served as Vice President of Relationship Marketing at Sungevity, where she built awareness-building and customer acquisition programs, developed an affinity marketing program, and scaled the company’s nonprofit fundraising partnership program.
Sherri also spent more than twenty years in leadership roles at Fortune 100 companies, including Levi Strauss & Co., HanesBrands, and Sara Lee Corporation, working across strategy, marketing, and communications.
Sherri earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MA in Culture and Spirituality from Holy Names University, and a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Florida A&M University. She has also completed advanced interpersonal dynamics training through Stanford University, the UC Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute, Matrix Leadership Institute, the Presencing Institute at MIT, and Dare to Lead.
When not traveling the world, Sherri resides in Oakland, CA, where she enjoys great food, refueling spiritual practices, and salsa dancing.
